Middelburg
Middelburg is surrounded by mountains and located in the heart of the Grote Karoo, Middelburg is unique but at the same time also a typical Karoo village where the inhabitants live mainly from livestock.
Many plant species and herbs are found in and around this town, but also fossils and San rock paintings. During the winter months the mountain tops are often covered with a layer of snow.
