Storms River

Storms River is a small town at the mouth of the river with the same name. Storms River is located in the Tsitsikamma National Park which is part of the beautiful green Garden Route N.P. The famous suspension bridge over the mouth of the river can be found here. This is certainly a place to take beautiful pictures of the rugged coastline and the green forests and offers many beautiful hiking and biking trails.

It’s hard to describe the beauty of this area, but maybe you just have to put on the hiking boots! There are lots of short hiking trails but it is also from here where the famous 5-day Otter trail starts. A trip along the rugged coast of the Eastern Cape. But also along fynbos and age-old trees, an area for nature lovers and those who love being active.
You can expect an overwhelming adrenaline rush if you go bungee jumping from the Bloukrans bridge. With its 216 meters, the highest free fall in the world. Slightly less daring, but still spectacular, is the Canopy tour where you roam and swing through the tops of the trees. The River Storms River offers numerous activities that take place on the water for example: Black Water tubing, a fun outing for an adventurous family.

.

Here at “the place of a lot of water”, because that is what Tsitsikamma in Khoi means, there is always something going on. Botanists who do not like adventure will also fall from surprise to surprise when they discover the largest giant in the forest. The Yellowwood tree, a tree that has not changed over the centuries! Hard Pear Trees and hundreds of different types of fynbos will provide fantastic photos just like the beautiful wild coast.
In Stormrivier you will find various restaurants and accommodations from hotel to self-catering.
