Along the way you will dock at an island where you can take a 1.5-hour walk with a guide. It is possible to spot elephants, waterbucks or other game during this walk. A special experience to watch wildlife on foot.

Optionally you can make a helicopter flight above the Delta, advance reservation required.

Day 6: Khwai River Area (B, L, D)
After an early breakfast, travel south via Maun to the Kwai River region. This area is wild and you can see many different animals during game drives. Which animals you can encounter depends on the season. The best time to spot wild animals is at the end of the dry season in the African spring, these are the months of August to November.

Accommodation at Khwai Bedoin Camp (or similar) in a permanent tented camp with en-suite bathrooms. Breakfast and dinner are in the camp and lunch is provided by the guide. The tents are equipped with two single beds and an en-suite bathroom with shower and toilet. Day distance 420 km.

Day 7: Khwai River, Botwana (B, L, D)

Day 8: Moremi Game Reserve, Botswana (B, L, D)
Today you also get up early to get the most out of the day. After exploring the Kwai area yesterday, it is now the turn of the Moremi game reserve.

One of the most beautiful and varied reserves in Africa, with an unprecedented amount of wild animals. Moremi is a combination of permanent water surfaces and dry areas that produces beautiful contrasts. There are also densely wooded areas where you might encounter the timid and rare leopard. With more than 500 different species of birds and animals such as buffalo, giraffe, lion cheetah, jackal and hyena, the park will not disappoint you. Wild Dogs are also regularly spotted and have since become part of a protection project. Day distance ± 150 km.

Overnight at Khwai Bedoin Camp (or similar).

Day 9: Nata – Makgadikgadi Pans (B, L)
After breakfast you leave the camp on the way to Nata and the Makgadikgadi salt plains. This was once a large salt water lake that was fed by a river. Today a large dry salt plain with here and there grass and ‘islands’ with baobab trees. Makgadikgadi is the largest salt pan in the world with an area of 37,000 square kilometers. Lunch is provided on the way by your guide. Day distance 430 km.

You will arrive late in the afternoon Nata Lodge (or similar).

Accommodation in permanent safari tents with en-suite bathroom. Swimming pool and bar available, dinner for own account.

Day 10 – 11: Chobe National Park (2x B, 1x L, 2x D)
You leave the lodge with a breakfast package. This morning you can visit Nata Bird Sanctuary where you have a beautiful view over the Sowa pan, part of the Makgadikgadi Pans (visit to the park depends on the condition of the roads and time-dependent). Then the journey continues to Kasane, also called the gateway to Chobe. Chobe National Park is the second largest wildlife park in Botswana and has a huge population of elephants. In the afternoon you can participate in an optional (safari) activity or relax at the accommodation.

On day 11 you start with a, hopefully spectacular, game drive in Chobe. This game drive leaves again early in the morning to have a better chance of spotting wild conductors. Upon your return to the camp, a breakfast / brunch will be ready for you. Like most wild animals, you probably want to be in the shade in the heat of the day. Take a cooling dip in the pool or take a nap in your room. Around three you will depart for a cruise on the Chobe River. During this peaceful cruise you can see elephants, hippos, crocodiles and a large amount of birds.

Two nights at Chobe Safari lodge (or similar) in en-suite rooms with bathrooms. Swimming pool, restaurant and bar.

Day 12 – 14: Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe (3x B, 3x L, 3x D)
Today you leave early for it Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe. You will explore this wild area in the coming days during game drives. If time permits, you can optionally participate in an afternoon game drive on open day 12 per 4×4 safari vehicle (not included). Hwange is particularly known for the large herds of elephants, buffalo, zebras and giraffes that live here. You will be looking for these and other animals in the coming days. You will also visit the Painted Dog Conservation Center where you will receive more information about endangered species in this area and what is being done to protect them.

Three nights at Sable Sands (or similar), in chalets with bathroom en-suite. Swimming pool and bar.
