Along the Garden Route & on safari

Your adventure is about to begin! After you arrive in Cape Town, pick up your car and drive to the African Queen Guesthouse, in Noordhoek. You will stay here for three nights, based on bed and breakfast.

Noordhoek is a quiet coastal town just below Cape Town. Your guesthouse is located at the foot of the beautiful and well-known Chapman’s Peak. Cape Town city center is just a 30-minute drive away.

Your accommodation has no fewer than two solar-heated swimming pools and a spacious garden with a trampoline. Your children will certainly enjoy themselves here while you relax in the garden and enjoy the fantastic view!

You leave Cape Town behind and drive via the N2 to your next destination: Swellendam. It is recommended to make a stop en route at the famous wine farm Spier. While you can taste the wonderful wines (not too much, you still have to drive a little),

You spend the night in a tent, but one that is fully equipped.

You will stay at Africamps at Kam’bati, based on accommodation.

On to your next destination: the fun one Garden Route Game Lodge. You will stay here for two nights based on bed, breakfast and dinner.

Garden Route Game Lodge is situated in its own malaria-free reserve where you can spot the complete ‘Big Five’ (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo). During your stay, a morning and an after-afternoon game drive are included. Are you traveling with (smaller) children? Fantastic activities are also included for them! The ‘Kids on Safari’ package consists of a ‘Walk and Stalk’, a 1-hour walk through a safe area (without predators) and the children go looking for the smaller animals. Children can go fishing, take a walk through ‘Skull Garden’, a garden where the skeletons can be seen, view reptiles from up close and even touch them and go looking for cheetahs under the supervision of a ranger! But you can also make a great game drive with your children. In short, a real safari experience!

Knysna is beautifully situated on the Knysna Lagoon. At this lagoon you will find the cozy Knysna Waterfront with nice restaurants and shops. From here you also have a beautiful view of the ‘Heads’ that form the passage tot he Indian Ocean. If you look inland, you will see the Outeniqua mountains. All this ensures that nature is very diverse.

You stay two nights in the Blackwaters River Lodge, A beautiful and child-friendly lodge just outside of Knysna, based on bed and breakfast. The lodge is situated in a valley and on the banks of the Gloukamma River.You can relax and enjoy the surroundings. But of course there are also many activities to do. How about a canoe trip on the river, a game of golf or of course a visit to Knysna. But Knysna Forest is also worth a visit, as are Birds of Eden.

On to the next destination: Storms River. Located near the beautiful Tsitsikamma National Park. We recommend that you visit this park during your stay and go to Storms River Mouth.You can take a nice short walk on a boardwalk here and you will certainly encounter many ‘rock dassies’ along the way.  Your children will love it! There is also a restaurant and a small playground.

You stay two nights at At the Woods Guesthouse based on bed and breakfast. This accommodation is child friendly and has a nice playground, among other things.

Very nice if you are traveling with children.

You will spend the last nights of your trip in Addo African Home, based on accommodation. This property is just outside of Addo Elephant National Park. On site you can book various activities such as game drives, horse riding, canoe trips, walks and you can go fishing

Unfortunately your journey is over. We hope you enjoyed it! Today it’s time to say goodbye to the elephants and drive to Port Elizabeth. You hand in your car at the airport and fly back to Amsterdam.
