This package starts with three nights in The Andros Deluxe Boutique Hotel in Claremont, Cape Town. The well-known V&A Waterfront with its many restaurants and shops is a 20-minute drive from the hotel. You have enough time in the coming days to view the sights in this metropolis such as the Table Mountain, Robben Island, Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden (only three kilometers from the hotel) and Castle of Good Hope. A nice way to explore the city is with the hop-on-hop-off bus

During your stay at Mosaic Lagoon Lodge, near Hermanus, meals are included and you can choose from a number of activities (weather dependent): 4×4 excursion to the secluded Walker Bay beach, boat cruise on the Hermanus Lagoon where you can enjoy the sunset and the many birds, kayaking, quad biking, archaeological excursion to Klipgat Cave, nature walks with a guide and at the 1982 Haunted House you will find a Jeu de Boules court, library and games.

Hermanus has a nice coastline and beach where you can walk and during the whale season (July-November) you can see whales from the shore with a little luck. Booking a boat trip to see these giants up close is of course worth the effort. But we can also imagine that once you arrive at Lagoon Lodge, you don’t want to leave this place.

The distance from Hermanus to Knysna is approximately 400 kilometers via the N2 highway, so a long drive. You may want to go on the road Swellendam or  Mosselbaai stop for a cup of coffee or to have lunch. Part of today’s route is known as the Garden Route. A beautiful green piece of nature between Mossel Bay and Stormsriver enclosed between the Indian Ocean and mountain ranges.

Your next accommodation is The Turbine Boutique Hotel & Spa in Knysna. An old power station has been converted into a very luxurious hotel and restored parts of the old machines form part of the interior. You stay here on a bed and breakfast basis, but the hotel has a Gastro Pub and Island Cafe for delicious lunches and dinners.

There are two ways to drive to your last accommodation from Knysna. The first takes you for the most part back on the N2 highway via Mossel Bay as you have come (295 km). Perhaps it would be nicer to go inland with George and drive through the ostrich capital Oudtshoorn and the village of Ladismith. This route is approximately 325 kilometers and takes about 4 hours and 15 minutes, so do not leave too late so that you can view something along the way.

Your last overnight address, Gondwana Lodge, is located in the Sanbona Wildlife Reserve which includes meals  (breakfast, lunch and dinner)Coffee, tea, water and drinks during the game drives are also include. The reserve covers an area of 58000 hectares and includes elephants, buffalo, lions, leopards, rhinos, giraffes, zebras, gemsboks, etc. You will also find here 200 different bird species and special vegetation. The expert guides will be happy to tell you more about this area during game drives. Minimum age for game drives is 4 years.

And after two nights at Sanbona your trip is over. You can drive back to Cape Town airport (approximately 3 hours’ drive) or extend your trip, we are happy to give you advice.
