Shindzela Tented Safari Camp

Shindzela is an intimate bush camp located in the Timbavati Reserve, which is part of the Greater Kruger National Park. The camp, which is mainly made of wood and canvas, has a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. A conscious decision was made to keep everything as basic as possible, to ensure that the camp merges into nature as much as possible and that guests can experience an undisturbed wilderness experience. Shindzela offers its guests a unique wildlife safari in an unlimited wilderness reserve. Both walking safaris and game drives in open vehicles can be enjoyed. The camp can accommodate up to 12 people and uses no electricity.

Solar power, gas and candles are used instead. The camp is television and cell phone free, so that you can fully enjoy the African wilderness.

Your safari accommodation is a canvas tent with two single beds. The tents stand on a wooden platform and have a wooden door with canvas flaps on both sides like windows with mesh against the mosquitoes. Every tent has a thatched roof and a porch, which ensure that the tents stay cool even during the warm summer months. All tents are equipped with bed linen, towels and a solar lamp that provides sufficient light for reading at night. Behind the tents, separate bathrooms are built of reeds and wood. Each bathroom is equipped with a shower with hot and cold water and a toilet.
The Timbavati Private Game Reserve is the natural habitat of a large number of mammals, such as Africa’s ‘Big Five’ animals (lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo and elephant). Other animal species that you can see during the safari include hyena, giraffe, hippo, zebra, kudu and impala. There are also 350 different bird species that live in this area. The Timbavati Reserve is located in the National Kruger Park and is not surrounded by fences, allowing the native animals to move around freely.
Shindzela Bush Camp focuses primarily on walking safaris, where you can make trips from 2 to 4 hours. All safaris are led by an armed guide and trace seeker. Participation of up to 8 people. Safari activities take place in the early morning and late afternoon.
