Description of accommodation:

SAN Parks Camping Satara Rest Camp – Kruger National Park

The Kruger Park is world famous. With an area of almost 20,000 km2, it is the largest game reserve in South Africa. It is for the most part located in Limpopo, the northernmost region of South Africa.  A park where the treasures of South Africa in the form of archaeological finds, Bushmen rock paintings and animals and plants continue to surprise you every day. This beautiful South African National Park where you will find 336 different trees is a home for a large number of animals. You will find 49 fish species, 34 amphibians, 114 species of reptiles, 507 species of birds and 147 different mammals including the world famous Big 5!

The Satara Rest Camp is located in a beautiful game view area. It is therefore no wonder that this is a busy park. The vegetation is fairly open here and you have a good view of the exuberant animal life. The camp itself has a rustic appearance, in particular because numerous accommodations are placed in circles. With the sheet of wood around the camp it may be clear that there are many birds. At night it is mainly the fruit bats and cicadas and crickets that you hear, although that sound is often interrupted by the call of an owl, the scream of hyena or jackal and the roar of the lions.
