As if by magic, thousands of flowers appear here in the spring … fields full of daisies and other spring bloomers, butterflies, thirsty sugar birds and all in the first rays of sunlight that touch the land of Namaqua after a wet winter.

The Namaqua National Park is located in the North Cape province west of Kamieskroon. A park where you undoubtedly immediately think of the flower seas that you can admire here a number of months per year. Namaqualand has the richest concentration of wild flowers and bulbs (± 3500) of which around 1000 are found nowhere else in the world. But there is of course much more to discover. And think of the beautiful animals, the vast landscape, the coast and the enormous silence that comes upon you here. Skilpad Restcamp accommodation has 4 chalets Each chalet has – 2 single beds in the bedroom – A ¾ sofa bed in the room, suitable for 2 children or 1 adult – open plan living room / kitchen – dining room in the closed vernada – indoor fireplace and outdoor braai – the chalets have ceiling fans – There is 220 V electricity – 1 cottage is suitable for people with reduced mobility – The kitchen is fully equipped with kitchen and cooking utensils – 4 burner stove – microwave, fridge / freezer, kettle and toaster Nearest gas station is in Springbok (87 km) there are no fuel facilities in the park. You also need to go to Springbok for medical care. There are limited toilet facilities in the park. Repair to your car, a post office or police point can be found in Kamieskroon.
