Safari in the Amakhala Game Reserve

From Port Elizabeth it is a 75 km drive to the Woodbury Tented Camp, via the N2 towards Grahamstown.

After arrival around 2 pm you can sit down for lunch You have the rest of the afternoon at your leisure to relax by the pool or enjoy the view.

At the end of the afternoon you set off for your first game drive The animals are most active in the early morning and late afternoon. So you have a good chance of spotting many animals. Once the sun is down, the spotlight turn on and you can continue driving. A unique experience! In the dark you see a world that you do not see during the day! Animals that sleep during the day wake up. You hear sounds that you do not hear during the day and you find yourself in a completely different world.

After the game drive you return to your accommodation and enjoy a delicious dinner.

An early start to the day. before breakfast you set off for a game drive (or depending in the weather and availability, perhaps a bush walk). Early morning is also a good time for game viewing. it is not to hot yet, so the animals are active.

You return to your accommodation and sit down for an extensive breakfast. Then it’s time to check out and leave the beautiful Amakhala Game Reserve again.

Woodbury Tented Camp
A good and comfortable 3 * accommodation in the heart of the Amakhala Game Reserve. The heart of the camp is the covered lounge overlooking the plains.
The modern tents have ensuite bathrooms and a veranda. Family tents are also available. Children of all ages are welcome, but children of 5 years and younger can only join a private game drive (for an additional charge).

Woodbury Lodge
The 4 * Woodbury Lodge is built on a cliff and enjoys fantastic views! Every afternoon the herds of elephants walk by. You can view this from the lodge!
The rooms are comfortably furnished with a private bathroom and separate toilet. Enjoy the sounds of the bush from your own veranda. There are family rooms. Children of all ages are welcome, but children of 5 years and younger can only join a private game drive (for an additional charge).

Hlosi Lodge
Beautiful and peaceful 4 * lodge where you can spend the night in luxury safari tents and suites. This lodge is ideal for families with children, since this lodge offers a special children’s program! It is also possible to hire a babysitter (for an additional charge).
