Big Five safaripakket in the Timbavati Game Reserve

General information

Stay three nights at this beautiful Bush Camp among the wild animals for the price of two! During this safari package there is only 1 priority for the guides and staff: to provide you with a fantastic safari! You stay in spacious and comfortable safari tent houses in a small-scale camp in nature (max. 16 guests). All meals, non-alcoholic drinks and two game drives per day are included. You can also opt for a bush walk and the guides will teach you more about bush craft, astronomy and everything that lives in this area. The camp is surrounded by an electrical wire to turn elephants so that trees and outdoor showers are not destroyed if the elephants are in a bad mood. However, other game can roam freely around the camp, so it is better to stay in your luxury safari tent at night. A true safari adventure!

Dagprogramma
Day 1:arrive Timbavati Game Reserve -
You can choose to drive to the Timbavati Game Reserve with a rental car or you can make use of a transfer from Johannesburg (ask us about the prices). From the OR Tambo airport near Johannesburg it is more than a 6-hour drive to the accommodation (480 km).
When you arrive at the lodge you can sit down for lunch. You will make a game drive in the afternoon with an expert guide hoping to spot the first members of the Big Five! But of course also to enjoy the surroundings, to be “in the bush” and to hear interesting information from your guide about the flora and fauna in this area. Game drives last between 3 and 4 hours at a time with a stop halfway to have a drink. If there are signs of interesting animals in the area outside of the times of the game drives, you will of course be invited to step into the safari vehicle to take a look.

For guests arriving later in the afternoon, the following program applies: sun-downer drinks in the afternoon and dinner when the other guests return from the game drive.

After the game drive it’s time for dinner. Dinner is a healthy meal with meat, vegetables and rice / potatoes (often with bread and salad beforehand), and a delicious dessert. The meat is often “turned” in an African way on the bbq between the guests. With a well-filled stomach you can go to sleep in your comfortable safari accommodation.

The eco camp consists of luxury tents with a thatched roof and its own covered veranda suitable for 2-4 people. All windows and doors are fitted with mosquito repellent. Each tent has a spacious en-suite bathroom with a toilet, sink and shower (some tents also have a bath). The electricity mainly comes from solar energy (lamps, fan), but there are also sockets available for charging your camera etc. The comfortable beds are equipped with high quality linen and towels are provided.

Always wanted to take a shower under the starry sky? Which can! At a number of tents there are outdoor showers with hot water (heated via a boiler with a wood fire), ask below when you book. Of course there is a swimming pool where you can cool off on hot days, a bar, lounge and a nice lapa where the campfire burns in the evening. In the camp you can bump into nyalas, piggies and small antelopes. And with a bit of luck you can see elephants, buffalo or rhinos walking along the river bed in front of the camp.
