‘Golf and Game Drives in the Western Cape’

Upon arrival in Cape Town, a driver will be waiting at the airport to take you to your accommodation.

After a wonderful night’s rest and a good breakfast, your Europcar Category V rental car or similar will be delivered to your guesthouse. Today you can drive in peace to, for example, the Clovelly Golf Course in Fish Hoek. Once a village known for whale hunting and fishing, now part of Cape Town and especially known for its beaches where you can enjoy hiking, windsurfing and kayaking. First of all, you will continue to step on the beautiful 18-hole golf course where a cooling breeze makes playing pleasant.

It is not easy to say goodbye to this beautiful area, but we would like to show you much more, so on to Kleinmond, located near the more famous coastal town of Hermanus. Get away on time and take the exit to Gordon’s Bay instead of the fast route on the N2. You will pass small coastal towns such as Rooi-Els, Pringle Bay and Betty’s Bay, where you might visit the penguins.

You will stay the following night in the Fancourt Hotel & Country Club, based on bed and breakfast. You can indulge yourself here, because this Country Club has only three golf courses: the Links, the Outeniqua and Montagu golf course and they are all listed in the top 20 best golf courses in the world. The choice is yours! The complex also has a number of restaurants of excellent quality. In addition to golf, you can spend your days here in the spa, by the pool, or on the tennis court.

We thought that a day of rest would also be appropriate. You can visit an ostrich farm or taste wine at a wine estate. You can drive the Swartberg route and then go back through the Meiringspoort. This is really something for people without fear of heights!

You stay two nights in the Pictures Guesthouse, based on bed and breakfast.

Today after breakfast you will follow Route 62 towards Robertson, this is a beautiful trip past Calitzdorp where a number of port wines are made, Ladismith, Barrydale and Montagu. A landscape that is interspersed with, plains, mountains, vineyards and fruit trees. Make a stop at a padstal and stock some of that delicious dried fruit or biltong for the road. You end the day in Robertson, located in the wine countries and known for its roses.

You stay one night at Ballinderry the Robertson Guest House, based on bed and breakfast. You can also dine here if desired, indicate this when booking so that we can reserve it.

Take the R 43 via Villiersdorp and the Franschhoek Pass and immerse yourself in the French atmosphere of Franschhoek. It is wonderful to shop here, stroll along the terraces, visit the Huguenot museum or taste the sparkling wines of Haute Cabriere. The village and the wine estates just outside the ‘Food Capital of South Africa’ offer you great restaurants with accompanying wines. Need advice for lunch, we are happy to help you make a choice and reserve (often necessary) a place for you. Via the Helshoogte Pass you continue to Stellenbosch.

You spend the last three nights in Wedgeview Country House & Spa, based on bed and breakfast.

It has been a few days since you played golf, but that makes up for it again today. The beautiful 18-hole golf course De Zalze is surrounded by vineyards. Golf, wine and ‘Good Food’ can be combined like no other in this area. You can visit numerous wine estates here for tastings and lunch or dinner. You make the combination by doing so at Ernie Els’s restaurant: “The Big Easy” or his wine estate just outside of Stellenbosch. The Dorpstraat and the historic center of Stellenbosch are full of Cape Dutch houses and you can enjoy shopping, visit galleries and relax on one of the many terraces. But you can also relax at your accommodation, as it is a holiday!

The last day of your vacation! If you have booked a late flight, there may still be time to play golf at the Pearl Valley Golf Course in Paarl. You then drive to Cape Town airport and return your car.
