Travel schedule -

The travel schedule as mentioned below is based on the 2019 program. If you travel in 2018, the program may differ slightly.

B = breakfast, L = lunch and D = dinner

Day 1: Maun – Xakanaxa, Okavango Delta (D)
You will be guided at Maun airport to the plane that will fly you deep into the delta. Enjoy this short flight, because the view over the delta is breathtaking!   You may be spotting your first elephants from the air.

Upon arrival at the Xakanaxa airstrip, your guide will welcome you and drive you to your camp. Here you will arrive at the end of the afternoon. The camp is already set up for you! The thrill of wild camping with the convenience of a lodge. After freshening up, you can enjoy dinner in the mess tent.

Day 2: Xakanaxa & Moremi Game Reserve (B, L, D)
You will be woken up early in the morning and you can enjoy a cup of coffee or tea. After this you immediately go on a game drive. The early morning and afternoon in particular are good times to go on a game drive. Wildlife is then the most active. You go out all morning. Chances are that you will see huge herds of elephants, but Moremi is also known for the wild dogs, lions, leopards and cheetahs.

At 11 a.m. you will return to the camp and enjoy a delicious brunch. Then it’s time for a shower and to relax in the camp. In the afternoon you make another game drive. You also board a motorboat and sail over the Xakanaxa lagoon or the Mboma waterways. Once back at the camp you enjoy a drink by the campfire, after which it is time for dinner.

Day 3-4: Xakanaxa – Khwai (B, L, D)
Time to leave Xakanaxa and drive to Khwai. Your camp has been set up for you again. It is ‘only’ 50 km away today, but it will take you at least 4 hours. On the way to the next camp you will enjoy a game drive!

On day 4, game drives are on the program in the morning and afternoon. During the heat of the day you can relax in the camp and enjoy the sounds of the bush.

Day 5-6: Khwai – Savuti (B, L, D)
After a final early morning game drive, it’s time to say goodbye to Khwai. You leave Moremi and head north, through the bush, to Savuti. In the summer months (our winter months), you have a very good chance of seeing the migration of around 20,000 zebras here. The zebras migrate from the northern part of Chobe via Savuti and Mababe to the Makgadigadi Pans. A special spectacle!

The Savuti marsh and canal had dried up since 1980. In 2009 it was filled with rainwater for the first time. Today it is half filled with water which attracts huge amounts of game and birds!

On day 6 you set off again in the early morning for a game drive and you search for the predators of Savuti. Savuti has been a permanent spot for documentary makers for 25 years and not without reason! Many predators live here. A small amount of petroglyphs can also be found here.
You return to the camp and you can relax in the afternoon. At the end of the afternoon you will go on a game drive again in this safari paradise.

Day 7-8: Savuti – Chobe National Park (B, L, D)
After breakfast, the camp is dismantled and you leave for your final destination of this trip: Chobe National Park. You camp by the river. Here you will certainly see large herds of elephants, for which Chobe is so famous. The Chobe River is certainly one of the best places to spot wildlife. In the afternoon, the herds of elephants and buffalo come to the river to quench their thirst, wash and play! The different elephant families give each other time in the river and wait for each other. Great to see! But also many types of antelope can easily be seen here.

And bird lovers will certainly enjoy themselves here.

On day 8 you take a boat cruise on the river in the afternoon and you can watch wildlife from the water.

Day 9: Chobe National Park – Livingstone/Victoria Falls (B)
After a quiet start to the day, the camp is dismantled and packed for the last time. You will then be taken to Livingstone airport in Zambia or Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. We recommend that you attach a nice stay to the majestic Victoria Falls. Ask us about the possibilities.
