Travelstory of Family Vroom – Schild

We have had a fantastic journey through South Africa and are very pleased with how Yara put together our journey with us. Very varied and certainly had a listening ear for our wishes. We wanted adventure and 4×4 routes, partly because of this we also rented a 4×4 car.

Our first accommodation was the Tambo OR lodge. The driver was already waiting for us, great transport and the lodge was okay, not super, but great for the first night.

Then on to Marakele, where we had 2 tents. These were great, really nice and it was great that we had the accommodations in the SANparks parks.

Then to Sun City, wonderful luxury hotel and super to relax here, very nice.

Kimberley was then on the program, also a great guesthouse with large rooms, breakfast was okay, only the chambermaids were a bit cheeky, but otherwise everything was fine.

In Mountain Zebra Park again a very nice house, with excellent facilities. Here we have driven beautiful 4×4 routes in the park.

Then to Addo Elephant Park, which was fine again, we slept in the rondavels, very nice.

On to Storms River, a very nice guesthouse. Because we only slept one night here, and actually wanted to do a lot, that was just too short afterwards, partly due to the zip-line and bungee jumping. If guests want more adventure, it might be wise to turn this into 2 nights.

We went on to the Baviaanskloof, Yara, you picked that super for us, what a beautiful 4×4 route. Tip if people book this they take into account that you definitely need 5 hours to drive from the start of the park to the Duiwekloof lodge, without stopping too much. The park itself already takes you 4 hours. The lodge was beautiful again, very nice location too.

On to Oudtshoorn, to La PLume, Yara added this lodge at our request, because we had been here before. What beautiful rooms we had here, really a pleasure again. The Knorhoek lodge was fine, but it was somewhat outdated, the rooms were good and the food was again delicious.

Finally to Cape Town to Dunkley House. We had the apartment here and that was not good. Lack of maintenance, lights that did not work, broken chairs, mold on the floor and in the curtains, no, we would not recommend booking this. That was actually the least of the overnight places we had.

The flights were also great, and everything on time, delicious. In short: we are very satisfied and we will certainly think of you next time South Africa. All information was complete about the accommodations and where we had to go.
