Thank you for your email, for us again proof that you have your affairs well organized. We had a fantastic trip, also because of the preparation. Jodi helped us very well, we quickly received an answer to all the questions we had. The camper was fine, although the roads in South Africa sometimes want the necessary questions from the interior. The welcome at Bobo was friendly and professional. The campsites were all aware of our arrival, so well arranged.
We still have a few
tips:
The Elandskloof campsite in Dullstroom was abandoned and has expired. Most power points did not work. No telephone coverage or internet at the campsite and camp site is far from a bad road reception. Reception was most cordial. Since this was our first impression of camping in ZA, this was quite a shock. But luckily most other campsites proved to be great. Iindeed, the Mahai campsite in Royal Natal in the Drakensberge is very nicely situated in a hiking paradise.
Unfortunately, the last campsite (Vereeniging, mahonjeli) was not really conveniently positioned. I think this is for many a pull-through campsite on the way to camper depot and airport but is isolated 23 km from Vereeniging and other facilities (restaurant). Since it was our last evening in ZA, we were looking forward to dinner at a restaurant, but it was improvising with leftovers that we still had in a camper. Also there the gate closes at 10 o’clock in the evening. Maybe put a comment in your description about this?
But all in all … had a wonderful holiday, top weather (very cold sometimes in the evenings but we knew that), nice people, experienced a lot and experienced with Krugerpark as the highlight for all of us. Almost all stops we wanted to stay longer I think that says enough.
Thank you for your advice and organization. We will certainly recommend you.
