The following strains are represented in Lesedi: Xhosa, Zulu, Basotho, Ndebele and Pedi. Learn more about their history, traditions, daily life and view the different houses. You will be treated to singing, dancing and a very extensive African lunch buffet! This tour departs from Johannesburg and takes approximately 6 hours.

Enjoy this authentic African experience in Lesedi Cultural Village. You will be taken to Lesedi, which is a 40-minute drive from Johannesburg. Lesedi is located in the area known as the Cradle of Humankind, the cradle of humanity. Lesedi gives you an experience that you won’t find anywhere else. You get to know members of no less than 5 different African tribes, their living habits and customs. The tribes represented in Lesedi Cultural Village are: Xhosa, Zulu, Pedi, Basotho and Ndebele. All have their own ‘village’ near Lesedi where you can look around. Listen to traditional music being played and listen to the fascinating stories of the people of Lesedi. You will see traditional dance and a South African tribal get-together. Very interesting is the viewing of the different ‘houses’, from traditional beehives made of woven grass and reeds to beautifully painted and colorful rondavels.
You visit the Nyama Choma restaurant which means Great African Feast, and that is an excellent name! At this African lunch buffet you have a large selection of African dishes including crocodile and ostrich. The restaurant has 3 different themed areas: North Africa, East Africa and South Africa.
