General information

Timbavati Nature Reserve.

The Timbavati Private Nature Reserve is part of the Greater Kruger National Park. There are no gates between Timbavati and Kruger National Park and animals can move around freely. You stay in a safari tent at Shindzela Tented Safari Lodge and the safaris (game drives and bush walks) are included. Meals are prepared and served in the camp in the dining room or around the fire.
The guide will do his utmost to show you the Big Five. However, you can also enjoy the beautiful zebras, giraffes, wildebeests, antelopes, goats and many birds. You don’t have to worry about anything these days. Just make sure you are on time for the game drives!

You spend the night in a tent that is placed on a wooden deck and under a thatched roof to keep the tent as cool as possible. The tents have solar lighting and there is no electricity available. Cameras and the like can be charged in the dining room of the camp. The tents are equipped with bed linen and towels and each tent has an en-suite bathroom, surrounded by reeds and branches, with a shower, toilet and sink with cold and hot water. You can choose between 2 single beds, a queen size double bed or a comfortable tent with a double bed and a single bed.

The camp has a swimming pool so bring your bathing suit, towels are provided. Bring clothing in natural colors (both long and short pants), at least 1 warm vest / jacket, good closed (walking) shoes, sandals, raincoat or poncho, hat or cap and think of sunscreen. In the winter months we also recommend that you bring a scarf, hat and gloves for any cold mornings.

Dagprogramma
Day 1: -
Around 13:00 – 14:00 you will arrive at the Shindzela Tented Safari camp. You will be welcomed by your guide and the camp staff and led to your tent. You have time to relax and unpack your suitcase, after which a light lunch is served.
After the (late) lunch, your guide will take you on a safari in an open 4 × 4 safari car. While your guide is looking for wildlife, he will share his knowledge of nature and animals with you. During the game drive you will stop at a picturesque place for a sundowner. While the sun goes down and the African stars appear, you will look for the nocturnal animals during the second half of the game drive. When you return to the camp, dinner is ready for you.
