Franschhoek Experience by bicyle
From the center of the ‘Food and Wine Capital’ of South Africa you can explore the wine countries by bicycle. Under the guidance of a guide you will visit three different wine estates in a group of max. 10 people where you can taste the local wines and take a look in the wine cellar.
There is also a combination tasting where you try different combinations of, for example, chocolate and wine or biltong and wine. Around lunchtime you will stop at a beautiful wine farm for a flatter with cheese and cold cuts.

After everyone has been assigned a suitable bicycle and helmet, you set off. Your guide takes you on a short drive through the picturesque streets of Franschhoek and past the Hugenot Museum to catch a glimpse of the culture and heritage of ‘Fransche Hoek’
After leaving the center, the tour continues along the princely vineyards where you stop at three or four different farms to take a break, taste the wines and discover some local products. At one of the wine farms you can enjoy a combination of tasting with chocolate or biltong. Around lunchtime you will stop at a beautiful wine farm for a flatter with cheese and cold cuts (you can optionally purchase additional lunch if desired).
The day trip ends again at 4 p.m. at Basse Provence Country House. If you have booked the transfer (additional charge on request) you will be returned to your accommodation.
Please note: – This excursion is suitable for people with good physical condition (you cycle about 15 km during this excursion, hilly area). – You cycle on both unpaved roads and paved roads.
