A good two-hour drive from Cape Town you will find the Aquila Private Game Reserve where you can admire the Big Five (lion, buffalo, elephant, rhino and leopard). You can also find hippos, giraffes and more than 170 bird species in the 7,500 hectare reserve. There are also rock paintings of the San that used to live in this area. After the game drives you have time to enjoy the saltwater swimming pool and the trendy bar. A wonderful day out in a beautiful piece of African nature.
On request and for a fee you can use a transfer bus that will take you from Cape Town to the Aquila Game Reserve and back. You will be called by the driver the night before departure to inform you of the exact time you will be picked up, this will be around 7:30 am in the winter months (May to November) and 6:30 am in the summer months.
The predators do not roam freely in this area. You will find the lions in a protected area within the nature reserve.

Morning game drive schedule:
You are expected at 9.00 a.m. in the Aquila Private Game Reserve.
You will be welcomed with a drink on arrival. You can then enjoy a delicious breakfast buffet in the restaurant.
From the 4×4 open safari vehicle, the ranger tells you everything about the Big Five and the flora and fauna in the park.
A lunch buffet awaits you in the African Boma restaurant from 12.45 to 13.45. If the weather permits, you can take a quick dip in the pool after lunch.
Then you leave with your own car to your next destination.
Afternoon schedule game drive:
You are expected at 11:45 am in the Aquila Private Game Reserve.
You will be welcomed with a drink on arrival. You can then use a delicious lunch buffet in the restaurant.
From the 4×4 open safari vehicle, the ranger tells you everything about the Big Five and the flora and fauna in the park. The afternoon game drive ends at 4 p.m.
Then you leave with your own car to your next destination.
Combo safari itinerary:
You will be welcomed with a drink on arrival. You can then use a delicious breakfast buffet in the restaurant until 10:00.
Around 10:15 am you will depart for a game drive of 2 to 3 hours.
From the 4×4 open safari vehicle, the ranger tells you everything about the Big Five and the flora and fauna in the park. You will also be offered a drink during this game drive.
Around 12:30 a lunch buffet awaits you in the African Boma restaurant.
After lunch (1:45 PM) you can choose from a safari on horseback or a safari by quad bike.
Your activity ends at 4 p.m., then you leave with your own car for your next destination.
Safari trip on horseback or quad bike:
You will be expected in the Aquila Private Game Reserve around 9 a.m.
You will be welcomed with a drink on arrival. You can then enjoy a delicious breakfast buffet in the restaurant until 10:00.
A lunch buffet awaits you in the African Boma restaurant between 12:30 PM and 1:45 PM, after which you can take a quick dip in the pool.
Then you leave with your own car to your next destination
