Varied group trip ‘safari & beach’ in South Africa and Mozambique

When you arrive at Bongani Mountain Lodge in the early afternoon, you have the opportunity to freshen up in your room. Later in the afternoon you make a game drive in search of the wildlife in this area. The Mthethomusha Game Reserve is the habitat of the entire Big Five (elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, rhino) and many other wild animals. This game drive is equipped with an open 4×4 safari vehicle (protect yourself well against the sun). Dinner at the lodge after the game drive.

Those who go on safari must get up early. So today you drink a cup of coffee while the sun rises and then you climb into the safari vehicle for the game drive. Bring warm clothing, because it can be cold (especially in winter) early in the morning. You always need a bit of luck to spot wildlife, but in the early morning chances are more likely to see predators such as lions and leopards. If you have any questions about the flora and fauna in this area, feel free to ask your guide. After this morning safari, breakfast will be ready at the lodge.

The adventure continues. You drive to the border post and after passport control and other formalities, you drive to the capital Maputo. Depending on the time, the guide will decide where you will have the opportunity to buy something to eat and drink. From the port of Maputo the journey continues by boat to the peninsula where the lodge is located for the next three nights. Time to enjoy this tropical beach paradise!

The next two days you can enjoy the warm Indian Ocean, the white beaches and hopefully lots of sun! Numerous optional activities are organized from the property such as scuba diving, snorkeling, tours to local villages, kayaking, fishing, walking on the beach and more. But of course you can also choose not to do anything at all in the coming days. A relaxed and romantic recommendation is a picnic on the beach. Meals at the lodge.

After breakfast you will be taken back by boat to Maputo where the journey continues by truck to the Kosi Bay border post. You enter South Africa again and you are now in Zululand in the province of Kwazulu Natal. You will find a variety of game reserves in this area. You will spend the next two nights at the beautiful White Elephant Lodge in the south of the Pongola Game Reserve.

In the afternoon you make a game drive and go in search of wild animals around Lake Jozini with the ranger. In the evening you can enjoy dinner at the lodge and the beautiful starry sky.

Again early on today and after a cup of coffee the game drive leaves. The expert local guides are happy to tell you more about everything that lives in this reserve. After the game drive there is time to relax and enjoy the surroundings. You will go on safari again later in the afternoon.
