Group tour though Botswana and Victoria Falls

Early in the morning, you will depart from Victoria Falls south to the village of Nata, Botswana. On the way you could spot elephants, giraffes or other wildlife along the road. In Botswana there are no fences around the game reserves and this means you can see game anytime, anywhere. The route you drive today is also called ‘The game drive route’.

After arriving in Nata, you can optionally join an afternoon tour to the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans and Nata bird sanctuary. You will enjoy spectacular views while sipping a sundowner!

On adventure!

Pack a backpack with everything you will need for the next two nights, because the truck will not be taken to the next overnight stop (only accessible by 4×4 vehicles).

You drive to Maun and depending on the weather there is the possibility for an optional scenic flight over the Okavango Delta. You will be brought into the Moremi Game Reserve with 4×4 safari vehicles. The next two nights you will sleep in spacious double permanent tents with a (simple) en-suite bathroom. A great experience to spend the night among the wild animals and “in the middle of nowhere”.

Your guide will prepare you for what to expect: a mokoro excursion in the Okavango Delta where you are propelled almost silently through the reeds and romantic waterways in a kind of canoe. Tomorrow you will also make a game drive through the Moremi game reserve in search of the Big Five.

Get up early!

Enjoy the sunrise and breakfast before being taken to the mokoros and the local guides by 4×4 vehicle. Besides a trip by mokoro you also make a bush walk on one of the many islands in the Delta.

After lunch, a game drive through Moremi with an expert guide is on the program. Nothing can ever be predicted during a safari and that makes it all the more fun. Feel free to ask the guide your questions about the animals, trees and plants in this area. They are happy to tell you more about this special piece of nature.

Morning dawn has gold in the mouth!

Today it is also an early morning. But with a beautiful sunrise and the chance to see lions, leopards, elephants and other wildlife, this is certainly not a punishment! Today’s safari takes place in the game rich Savuti Game Reserve. Because this area has diverse ecosystems such as grassland, savanna, lakes and swamps, you can encounter a wide variety of animals here.

Towards the end of the afternoon you will arrive at the Chobe River near the village of Kasane. The adventure truck with the rest of the luggage awaits. Tonight you will spend the night in double rooms on the edge of the river. Sunsets are beautiful here too.

Today we look for even more game!

In the morning you will explore the Chobe National Park by 4×4 in search of lions, elephants, giraffes, cheetahs, wild dogs and more. At lunchtime, return to the lodge where you can relax by the pool or take an afternoon nap.

In the afternoon you will take a boat cruise on the Chobe River. From the water you can see crocodiles and hippos and a wide variety of birds (like ospreys and kingfishers). Buffalo and waterbuck can also often be found along the river and the elephants like to take a bath here.

Mosi-oa Tunya!

After all the great safari experiences in Botswana, now is the time to return to Zimbabwe. This afternoon you can discover the Victoria Falls at your leisure. The locals call this ‘Mosi-oa Tunya’ which loosely translated means ‘the smoke that thunders’. An excellent name given the sometimes roaring sound of the water of the Zambezi River plunging into the gorge here. The fog that rises can be seen from afar. You can walk here and take beautiful pictures of this natural beauty. Especially between 14:00 and 16:00 you will often see rainbows due to the position of the sun, this makes your photos even more beautiful! In some places along the gorge, a raincoat or poncho is not a luxury, especially when the water level of the river is high.

Optional excursion day!

If desired, you can book optional excursions in Victoria Falls today. Popular activities include river rafting, a boat cruise or a flight above the waterfall in a helicopter or microlight aircraft.

Opposite the entrance to the falls you will find many stalls selling souvenirs. In the village itself is a large market where you can buy beautiful handmade goods, here you will find a nice souvenir of this special trip.

You can also optionally stay an extra night in Victoria Falls before flying back home or extend your trip from here (ask us about the options). Your 7 day adventure ends after breakfast.
