The biggest attraction of the village is the beautiful view of the bay and the long white beach which invites to swimming, snorkeling, sunbathing and surfing. And in the spring, it’s a good place to watch the Southern Whale whales swim with their calves.
Furthermore, the beautiful Clovelly Golf Course also attracts quite a few people. In addition to walking 18 holes that follow the slope of the dunes, you have a beautiful view of False Bay from here. The golf course is located in the ‘Silvermine Valley’ nature reserve and has been named one of the most fantastic greens!
Fishhoek is close to the world famous penguin colony of Boulders Beach, located just below Simons Town. In the center of Fishhoek is a small museum where some antiquities can be seen related to the Fishhoek man, which refers to prehistoric times. From the museum you can book guided walks to Peer’s Cave, the cave where the skull of the Fishhoek man who lived here some 12,000 years ago was found.
And of course there are also numerous walking and hiking routes through the beautiful nature. Numerous birds and the protected leopard toad are found here. The Jagers walk is just 1 of those beautiful walking tours.
Active and adventurous excursions that you can undertake from here are; abseiling, rock climbing and shark-cage diving. Or head up the bay with one of the many fishing boats. Cape Town, Constantia, Kommetjie, Muizenberg, Kalkbay and the Chapman’s Peak are all “Just around the Corner”!
