Packing list

Based on our own experience and that of our customers, we have compiled a list of items that we recommend to take with you on holiday in southern Africa, in general and specifically when you go camping. We have not included items such as clothing, shoes and toiletries in the list.

If you are traveling in the South African winter, it is advisable to bring enough warm clothing. Although the weather is pleasant during the day, it can get cold at night. For game drives in the early morning, a hat and thick jacket is not superfluous and if you are going to camp an extra fleece blanket from home can be nice.

Safari trip

If you are going to make a bush walk or game drive in an open safari vehicle during your vacation, bring clothing in neutral colors (green, beige, khaki, brown etc). During walks in nature and wildlife reserves you should not wear red, yellow, white or blue. For a bush walk you need sturdy (walking) shoes and long pants are preferred because of tall grasses and shrubs. Again, think of good protection against the sun and warm clothing in the winter months.
