SAN Parks Camping in Pretoriuskop Rest Camp – Kruger National Park

The Kruger Park is world famous. With an area of almost 20,000 km2, it is the largest game reserve in South Africa. It is for the most part located in Limpopo, the northernmost region of South Africa. A park where the treasures of South Africa in the form of archaeological finds, Bushmen rock paintings and animals and plants continue to surprise you every day.

This beautiful South African National Park where you will find 336 different trees is a home for a large number of animals. You will find 49 fish species, 34 amphibians, 114 species of reptiles, 507 species of birds and 147 different mammals including the world famous Big 5!

The Pretorius rest camp is located on the once liquid rocks that found their way through the earth’s crust, gradually hardened like granite and now the particularly beautiful location where Pretorius camp is located. The “Shabeni hill” is the most famous and impressive rock that is not far from the camp.

Beautifully red trees surround the camp among which special ‘for your exclusive use’ native herbs grow. The oldest camp at Kruger Park still radiates the same tranquility as in the distant past and old plants with their scents enhance that feeling of nostalgia.

Here you will certainly look for the sable antelope, the hartebeest, the black rhino, kudu and the brown-headed parrot.

Important information

You will become acquainted with a number of special and unusual creations of nature which can be dangerous if you know nothing about it! Consider bats, spiders, snakes, scorpions, and malaria.

If you have to walk in the dark never do that without a flashlight!
Think warmer clothing during game drives, and this applies to all seasons!
Please do not feed wild animals, this leads to their death and it makes them aggressive!

Rent a car, camper or 4×4 on our site under Car rental

-Conservation Fees. The South African board of National Parks has set a daily entrance fee that applies to all parks.
