Dagprogramma
Day program -
An original way to see the wine countries of Franschhoek and the historic buildings is by using the Franschhoek Wine Tram. You can make a reservation for one of the four routes and get off the route at each winery to visit it. Every 60 minutes a tram stops at a winery on the relevant route that you can take to the next winery. So you have the freedom to decide how long you want to spend at the various stops. You can indulge in the delicious South African wines without the risk of being stopped for drunk driving. The part of the route that is traveled by tram goes over a railway line that was built in 1904 to facilitate the transport of merchandise than with the traditional bullock cart.

The tour starts at the ticket office on the Huguenot Road in the old center of Franschhoek, where the beautiful historic buildings can be found, beautiful gardens full of roses and lavender and cozy eateries and shops. Who wants to know more about the history of Franschhoek can take a look at the Huguenot Museum where you can find out everything about the Protestant French refugees who have built a new life here. Other stops are at wine farms with high quality wines where you can taste wine to your heart’s content, view the wine cellars or enjoy delicious food in the associated restaurants.

There are six different routes: the blue route, red route, yellow route, green route, orange route and purple route that you can choose from. Every route departs from the same departure point at the ticket office in Franschhoek.
