Your “Prince Zulu” safari starts at the Memorial Gate of the Hluhluwe park (the northern entrance). Do you want to be picked up from the town of Hluhluwe? Ask us about the options and any additional costs. There are also possibilities (for an additional charge) to be picked up by air-conditioned van in Richards Bay or Durban.

You board an open 4×4 safari vehicle and begin your journey through the wilderness where you can hear the wild animals and feel the spirit of Africa.

The Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park located on the former hunting grounds of the famous Zulu King Shaka is a protected area since 1920. The park is the habitat of the entire Big Five, but also of giraffes, kudus, blue wildebeest, cheetahs, hyenas, antelopes and along the river you will find hippos and crocodiles. Bird watchers lack eyes and ears when they want to see the 340 different bird species in the park.

Different game drives are offered that differ in time and price, you can opt for a 3, 6 or 9-hour game drive with qualified ranger. During the longer trips you will stop at a restaurant or shop in the park for breakfast and / or lunch (for your own account).

In the 4×4 vehicles there are rain coats / capes for the rainy days and if it gets cooler, you can snuggle under a nice warm plaid.

Note: minimum 4 people for the game drives (max 10). With fewer than 4 participants the prices will be higher.

You must pay the entrance fees for the Hluhluwe Game Reserve when you enter the park. In 2018, entry fees for adults are R 210 per person and for children aged 4-12 R 105 per child. If you are going to visit several SAN Parks in South Africa, it may be useful to purchase a Wildcard.
