Stellenbosch is the second oldest city in South Africa, founded in 1679 This university town has romantic streets with beautiful oak trees, a rich history and a diversity of architecture. This guided walk takes you past the historic buildings and exceptional artwork of Stellenbosch. We stop at various places to discover African cuisine. From sweet treats, dried meat, fresh bread a heritage lunch platter to delicious South African wine and indigenous tea.

Program -

This delicious culinary walk has a length of three kilometers and takes around four hours (start at 10:00 am). Your guide speaks English and Afrikaans and the group size is a minimum of two and a maximum of eight people.

Stellenbosch is the second oldest city in South Africa and was founded in 1679 As you walk through the historic center, guide will tell you more about the buildings you see, the history and folk stories. You visit the oldest house in the city that is part of the Village Museum.

At 10:00 you will meet the guide at the Stellenbosch Wine Routes office (47 Kerkstraat) You will taste a whole range of delicious traditional Cape dishes / snacks and various locally produced wines. You start the morning with rooibos tea and old fashioned baked rusks that you dip in the tea. Other South African specialties that you will taste along the way are: biltong and droë-wors (this dried meat is a real South African specialty and many tourists get addicted to this hearty delicacy), freshly baked bread, old-fashioned sweets from the oldest shop of Stellenbosch and delicious wines at a trendy bar (non-alcoholic options available). At the oldest hotel in Stellenbosch you can sit down for a heritage lunch platter with a variety of dishes to taste.
