Although you have an all inclusive insurance, Europcar will always hold a deposit on your credit card. This guarantees the car. Any charges will be deducted from your credit card and charged. The remaining amount of the deposit is then released again. Any additional costs may include: administration fees for a fine and/or damage, filling of the tank (petrol costs) and/or other items which are not included by us (If you hand in the car later than agreed or at another depot, has an additional driver added etc).
The deposit that is blocked on your credit card is for each category Prices subject to change.
Do not include any additional insurance that we have already included for you. If you cancel your local supplementary insurance, they will be debited to your credit card, even if you have already signed up with us. So do not opt for an additional insurance that is already included. Any costs resulting from this are for your own account.
Internet Wi-Fi dongle
Europcar offers you the possibility to rent one dongle so you can use the internet on the go. This dongle has a maximum of 1GB per day and costs ZAR 110 per day. To use this dongle you will need a USB port. The larger cars are often equipped with a USB port; ask us whether the car of your choice has a USB port. Do you bring a laptop on vacation? Then you can of course also use it for loading the dongle.
Trailer – roof rack
When you take a lot of luggage or travel with the whole family in the car, the luggage area of the rental car may not be enough. At Europcar you can choose to rent a roof rack or a trailer (ask us for the possibilities). Costs for renting a roof rack are ZAR 200 per day and for a trailer ZAR 230 per day. When you use this option, an amount of ZAR 1500 will be blocked as a deposit on your credit card. This amount will be released after the rental period (if the trailer / roof box has been returned in good condition).
